Hope of ChristmasIt was 6 o'clock in a cozy December evening. Snowflakes were sifting gently down through the air. The shopping mall and department stores were packed with busy customers browsing gifts for their families and friends. James Simon, a golden haired boy, was sitting outdoor with his old harp in his arms. He was playing the harp and singing the folk carol songs humbly by himself. With a little encouragement from people passing by, his cold voice went on singing. Then at the crashing climax, his soft voice carried the tender melody into the wilderness of everyone's hearts: "Hope to light our pathway, When the way ahead is dark. Hope to sing through stormy days, With the sweetness of the lark…" At this point, more people paid attention and came near James to listen to the carols. The carols brought wonderful meanings to the shoppers in their hearts. Some found the Hope of Christmas for the first time. Others who lost hope were restored and renewed with a new hope. The lyrics were familiar to all. Yet never before had they found the lyric's meaning so rich and linking to the Christmas spirit. As James Simon continued singing, many more hearts that had been closed to God were opened. God's Son was born in Bethlehem, grew up, and lived among us 2000 years ago. The Holy Infant came into the world to bring Hope and Good News to the mankind. How are you doing today? Have you been living in the good hope? Does your heart need to be restored with a real hope, joy, peace, and love?
